2010 TOP OF THE HARBOUR UPDATES
from Carlene Macrae

Final Round - Mt Maunganui

A great team effort on the final day at Mount Maunganui.  The Tauranga team won the overall day but with not enough points to beat Otumoetai for the trophy.  Well done to Brooke Polley who was our top scorer and the overall top scorer of the day with 43 points.

Congratulations to Blake Griffiths who won the 9 hole fair play award.

Well Done to David McFadyen who was runner up in the overall top scorer competition.  He missed out winning by just one point!

Thank you to all our juniors that played throughout the competition.  We are proud of your achievements and your behaviour both on and off the course was fantastic.

Special thanks also to the wonderful 9 hole caddies, and to all our parents who supported and helped out.

Sunday 7 March - Tauranga

An awesome day for our team who had the highest ever counting score.  A win by 30 points puts us only 6 behind Otumoetai with two rounds to play.  Amazing scoring from Stephen Glassbrook with 48 points, followed closely by David McFadyen 43, Jack Tisch 42 and Corey McLauchlan 41.

A huge thank you to all club members who supported the junior fundraising raffle over the weekend.  The raffle was won by Sue Collin.

Sunday 28 February - Te Puke

Another tough weekend for our Tauranga juniors playing in very hot conditions at Te Puke.  Well done to David who was our top scorer with 41 points.

Otumoetai have got a good lead on us now.  Hopefully we can change that next weekend playing on our home course.

Scores from our team were David McFadyen 41, James Cannon 35, Boston Stewart 35, Joe Yen 33, Cameron McFadyen 31, Julian Oakley 30, Jack Tisch 29,  Sean Blomquist 27, Warwick Barnett 27, Corey McLachlan 23.

Sunday 21 February - Otumoetai

We had twenty players competing on Sunday including a few first timers so that was great. Our selected team of ten players played well but not good enough to win against Otumoetai on their home course.  Congratulations to Scott our top scorer with 41 points.

Well Done to Alex who is still at the top of the overall individual leaderboard.

Scores from our team of ten were Scott White 41, William Coxhead 39, Joe Yen 38,  Alex Oakley 37, Corey McLachlin 35, David McFadyen 35, James Cannon 30, Warwick Barnett 30, Julian Oakley 28, Cameron McFadyen 26.

Sunday 14 February - Omokoroa

Great start for our junior Top of the Harbour team which competed at Omokoroa yesterday.

Excellent scoring from Alex Oakley 46 points, Corey McLauchlan 41 points and David McFadyen 40 points.  Well done Alex who was the overall winner for the day.

Jordan Cooke was the overall winner of the 9 hole competition with a gross score of 55.

Our team of ten players are currently sitting at the top of table.

Team for the round was Alex Oakley (46), David McFadyen (40), James Cannon (36), Julian Oakley (35), Cameron McFadyen (35), Warwick Barnett (33), Joe Yen (30), Scott White (29)
