SENIOR A TEAM WINS COASTAL PENNANT

The Tauranga Senior A Pennant Team won the Coastal Pennant for the first time with a win over Otumoetai at Omokoroa on 16 May. Tauranga managed to win the Senior Coastal Pennant by 0.5 from Kawerau, wWith Rotorua winning the Central Zone from Lake View. The draw for Sunday 30 May will see Tauranga v Lake View and Kawerau v Rotorua. The venue will only be known after the final Championship Pool play round at Omanu on Sunday 23 May.

GUILD & SPENCE MATCHPLAY

Below is a shot of two of the Guild and Spence Thursday Matchplay winners, Roy McGregor and Ian Dale along with Sponsor Ray Guild at Wairakei on 8 May. Ray organized and managed a brilliant two days away for the lucky winners. On top of his company sponsorship his personal involvement makes this prize a delightful experience, with the trips away now becoming highly sought after and hotly contested. True to form Ray ‘oxtaginates’ (x8) the money for the back nine and ‘stars’ at Centennial course, Taupo, and wins the day. With that standard set, Ace (Dale) and Evan return the favour at Wairakei on Saturday, and wouldn't you know it, win the day.

WINTER 4 BALL MATCHPLAY

Round 1 of the Winter 4 Ball that was scheduled for 8 May will now be played on Saturday 15 May. The postponement was to avoid a clash with the Interclub fixture against Maraenui on 8 May.

Entries

The entry sheet for the Winter 4 Ball is now posted on the Lounge Noticeboard. Enter as pairs in your handicap grade. A draw will be published for rds 1 and 2. Subsequent rounds to be played by arrangement between players and the final to be played on Club Finals Day.

LUCKY DRAW PRIZE

Further to the support already provided by Placemakers, "Experience Golf" are providing a lucky draw prize to all Saturday Golfers who participate in the Pro's Competition by way of a lucky card draw each Saturday evening. All eligible cards from the days play will go into the draw and the first card drawn where the member is in the clubhouse will be the winner. The weekly winner will then go into a draw at the end of the year the winner of which will win a trip for one to the President's Cup Tour to Melbourne in November 2011 being run by Experience Golf . Lucky winners can have more than one entry into the final draw but to go into the final draw the player must be in the clubhouse.
